Wise Guy Cup 2027
The Wise Guy Cup goes to the club member who earns the most points across four club-only homebrew contests during 2027. Judging will take place at the club meeting each month listed below.
- January: 17C Wee Heavy (a big beer for winter). If you haven’t started brewing, get to it now!
- April: 7B Altbier (a traditional top-fermenting German style)
- July: Any sour beer (a refreshing summer treat). The base beer can come from any sour category, including 23 European Sour Ale or 28 American Wild Ale. Beers may be fruited or spiced, which would put them in 29 Fruit Beer or 30 Spiced Beer.
- September: 10B Dunkles Weissbier (a flavorful beer for Chattanooga Oktoberfest)
Chattanooga Whiskey Barrel Club Brew
This is our Belgian Strong Ale, fermented on a bourbon barrel and a rye barrel.
- Confirmation tasting: November 5 at 6:30 PM
- The Rye barrel is ready to package! Transfer out of the barrel will be Saturday, November 14 (time TBD). A sign-up sheet is coming soon.
- Bottling will be Sunday, November 15, and we’ll need several folks for this one.
If you have a homebrew to share at the meeting, bring it along. We always love tasting what everyone has been working on.
